    Join us in congratulating Hilda Alston Parlér!This morning our Black History Month Honoree is educator, realtor and organizational leader, Hilda Parlér. Hilda is an educator of 32.5 years, with 28 years as a middle school mathematics instructor and 4.5 years as a curriculum instructor. She has been a realtor for 26 years with an office in Wake Forest for over 10 years. Hilda became a member of the Wake Forest Women’s Club in 2012 serving as President in 2018-2019 as well as serving in various leadership positions. Her firm, Parlér Properties Real Estate Services is a Toys for Tots drop off, sponsors the Wake Forest Purple Heart Foundation Dinner, is a certified Dementia-Friendly Partner and participates in the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce Senior Lifestyle Expo. Hilda is Founder of the Wake Forest Charter Academy (K-8), established in 2014 and continues to serve as Board President. She is also the Founder and President of the Wake Forest Preparatory Academy (K-12), opening in 2022. Hilda was appointed by former Governor Pat McCrory to serve on the 2015-2017 State Charter Schools Advisory Board and was recently appointed by NC Speaker of the House, Tim Moore to serve on the 2021 State Charter Schools Advisory Board for a second term. She is also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) Society International For Key Women Educators. Hilda currently serves as the NC DKG state 2nd Vice-President and is the coordinator of 11 Regional Directors.
